We get great reviews and we get some not so great reviews.

On March 1st, 2016 we got a negative review from a customer who regularly buys our Chicken Marsala slices, he loves them, I love them.

However he left us a “1 star” review because it wasn’t ready when we told him it was going to ready. Here’s his original review.

What Gino doesn’t understand is that what makes our Chicken Marsala slice is the process! It’s not slapping some already made sauce on the chicken, and then throwing it on the pizza.

It’s takes 2 people to complete the process, our chef cooks up the the secret sauce in the back and carefully adds in the chicken to where it’s just right, then it goes to one of pizza (super)man, who by the way, also takes all the orders and front counter duties during the early part of the day.

What I trying to convey is that that are a lot of moving parts involved, and it not an exact science.

Gino says my pizza (super)man told him it would be another 30-40 minutes. He disputes that, and I agree with my pizza man, why?

Here’s 2 videos of when Gino came in, and when the pizza was almost finished being prepared. At the point that the pizza man is finishing putting on the ritz, err, I mean cheese, there are about 5 minutes left for the finished product.

So in about 15 minutes, his pizza would have been ready!

So when seeing this evidence, from a regular customer, who loves our product give us a bad review, he gets pissed when I tell my guys not to serve him.

If I hated a place sooooo much to give it a “1 star” I certainly wouldn’t go back 3 DAYS LATER!. But Gino did!

And he’s pissed. Sorry but if we’re 1 star to you, then you shouldn’t eat here. We don’t deserve want your business.

On Tuesday March 1st, I was away in South America dealing with family issues when I discovered the new review, I then immediately called the pizzeria, investigated the issue, watched the video, and and started to respond, but unfortunately, that Yelp reply was erased by the shoddy wifi I was using, so I waited to reply until I returned.

No hard feelings, sorry if it hurts, it hurts me too!

You may have heard of Casey Neistat, he’s a popular vlogger (video blogger) on Youtube. Anyway this weekend he shot an epic snowboarding short film in NYC that you’ve got to see!

Open Today

How’s everyone doing?

Here’s a picture of Ditmars Blvd. with more people on the street than cars!

2016-01-24 11.17.23

We’re open today, but not sure if we’ll be delivering too far, as many streets are un-passable!

Closed For the Day

We thought we’d be open today, but after looking at the conditions, we decided the responsible thing to do would be to close.

I’m stocked up on coffee at home, what else is there? Oh yeah, pizza!

We plan on opening tomorrow, Sunday, January 24th regular hours. See you then!

Eat Pizza – Live Longer

That’s right, you read it right. Cheese has gotten a bad rap for a long time because it has been thought to increase coronary heart disease, however a new study suggest that may not be the case.

The French Paradox, where the French consume a large amount of cheese, red wine, and baguettes yet have low rates of coronary heart disease may have lead to the study performed by a Danish firm and reported in a small agriculture publication.

The findings of the study suggest that milk and cheese may alter the bacteria in the gut to decrease production of TMAO, a metabolite produced when the body metabolizes choline, which is found in many animal-derived foods, especially red meat.

The Time article links to research that suggest that lower levels of TMAO seem to be a good thing; other research has shown that TMAO may help transport cholesterol to the arteries and predicts mortality rates.

Having read The Coconut Oil Miracle sometime ago, I was aware of the bad rap that saturated fats have received, and some of the conspiracy theories as to why, so I was not surprised when I read this.

What does this all mean?

Don’t worry too much about your cheese intake!

So fire away, and order more pizza, preferably from us 🙂

P.S. If you’re looking for a nice Cabernet Sauvignon to go with, may I suggest the
Stratton Lummis.

New Delivery Boxes

Here are our new pizza boxes. Don’t they look better than the plain generic, white and red lettering boxes that are usually the norm?

OK, so we’re trying to get our name out there. And this is a start. Every little bit helps.

But what really counts is what’s inside the box. We truly hope you enjoy every pie you get, but if for some reason you don’t, please let us know!

New Bench & Astoria Park Fireworks

So, someone from the city stopped by and asked about putting up a new bench since their isn’t enough space on the sidewalk for a full blown bus stop shelter thingy.

After getting the blessings from the proper authorities, err, the landlord, we said sure! Let’s do it!

Here is our new bench pretty much being used the way we envisioned, eating pizza on a nice night.

Tonight was fireworks night at Astoria Park which was preceded by some nice music. This is one of our busier nights for us as far as foot traffic goes.

Free Buffalo Wings

So you are about to, ahem, spread your wings, graduate college, move on in life, but you haven’t had lunch, no worries, we got your back!

Yep! Free Buffalo Wings to anyone who will eat them at their college graduation, and bring us the pictures to prove it.

OK, so I can’t be absolutely sure these are our wings, in fact I highly doubt these are ours, but if you’re graduating college, and are a little hungry, then yeah, we’ll hook you up.

By the way, can you tell I love commas?
